| About | Starley Jo Smith, 88 of Zanesville died at 9:50 PM Saturday, April 8, 2023 at her home under Hospice Care following a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Friday, February 1, 1935 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Harold E. McKeown and Ann Severance McKeown. Starley graduated from Lash High School and retired from Radiology Associates after 25 years of service. She enjoyed collecting antiques and operated several booths at the Old Town Antique Mall. She also worked for American Greetings. Starley was a super avid Ohio State Fan always supporting her team. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to travel abroad five different times, visiting Europe, Russia & Japan. She mostly was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who had a great sense of humor, never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Mike) Smith-Wisecarver; a grandson, Will Wisecarver; a sister, Marjene Ryan and several nieces, nephews, friends and her two pet cats, Tara & Tippy. In addition to her parents, Starley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Byron Smith who died June 10, 2011; a son, Robert Eric Smith who died June 20, 2008, two daughters, Sally Ann Smith and Shanda Smith; a sister, Dortha Dee Priest & two brothers, Robert Nick McKeown & Donald McKeown. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with the funeral service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Burial will conclude at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, West Main St. Zanesville. |
