| About | Stephen Michael Hardin, best known as Stevie, was born July 12,1951 to Gloria L. Hardin and the late Alan Edwards in Zanesville, Ohio. Stephen departed this life on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Bethany Nursing Home in Canton, Ohio. Stephen graduated from Zanesville High School in 1970. After graduation, he began his career in the restaurant business in Zanesville, Ohio working at a burger joint first, then moved on to Elby’s restaurant. From there he had an opportunity to manage and own several Ponderosa’s in the New England states, proving that you don’t need a college education to be successful. Stephen loved music, photography, traveling, which included a trip to Mardi Gras every year, electronics and let’s not forget his collection of Corvettes. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Grace and Walter Hardin, Father, Alan Edwards, and sister, LaVerne L. Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Gloria (Chester) Brown of Canton, brother Aaron (Kathy) Williams of Canton, and sister Jestina Williams of Columbus, Ohio, nieces and nephews, special cousins and a host of friends. Special thanks to the staff at Bethany Nursing Home for providing excellent care and support for our loved one over the last several years. Your kindness has meant the world to us and we are truly grateful. Per Stephen’s wishes, cremation has been chosen.
