About Steven Bernard “Big Daddy” Harris, 68, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Genesis Hospital. He was born March 25, 1954, in Zanesville to the late Bernard and Juanita Roberts Harris. He attended Zanesville High School. He was employed by Mattingly Foods/45 Degree Logistics as a truck driver for 48 years. Steve enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, horses, and traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. He formerly trained harness racehorses for Terry Holton. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Any given weekend, you could find him with a cold one and a cup of Max. He was a member of VFW Post #1058, American Legion #29 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #302.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole Deegan Harris, who he married September 20, 1975; three children: Claude (Anna) Archambault; Johanne (Chad) Lynn and Steven (Mary) Harris; a brother Phil (Sally) Harris; sisters: Shelley (Joe) Riggs, Barb (Dan) Sherman, Holly (Kirby) Minnich and Pam Harris; eight grandchildren: Aiden Dire, Jaxon Wilson, Jenna Wilson, Jorge Wilson, Journey Wilson, Hildee Harris, Jozee Harris and Henry Harris, who he called his Buddy Henny; sisters in law: Suzanne (Daniel) Derosiers and Johanne (Andre) Payant; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Sally Christine Harris; father and mother in law Gorman and Lucille Deegan; and son in law Shawn Halley.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Friday, March 3, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD. Funeral services will be 1PM Saturday, March 4, in the Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Shelley Riggs and Chris Steele officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
