Steven William Wheeler, age 74, of Newark, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark. Steve was born November 13, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late William Wesley and Marie (Huddleston) Wheeler. Steve retired in 2007 from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 40 years of service. He was the Union Vice President for several years. Steve was a lifetime member of the Druids and a former member of the Eagles. He was an avid OSU and Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed golfing and recreational sports. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda D. (Perge) Wheeler, whom he married on March 6, 2000 and been in a relationship with since 1984; son, Steve Wheeler of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Michelle (Kenny) Gemmell of Heath; step-son, Bryan Dumm of Newark; grandchildren, Dillon and Dalton Gemmell, Abigail Dumm, and Shayla Wheeler; siblings, Tom Wheeler, Barb (Rocky) Pettit, Norma (Bryan) Crawmer, Marjorie Wheeler, Sue Ann (Tim) Clark, Jeff Wheeler, and Jim Wheeler; step-sister, Paula (John) Hoover; step-mother, Florence Wheeler; sister-in-law Linda K. Wheeler; uncle, Wayne Huddleston; nephew, Tom Wheeler; and niece, Kelly Joseph; as well as other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Josef Dumm; and by a brother, Bill Wheeler. |
