| About | Susan Kay Rush, 76 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away to be with her Lord, Monday, November 4th, 2024 surrounded by her family at home. She was born July 16th, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Edward Leroy (Jack) and Lillian (Mayle) Rush. She is preceded in death by her two older brothers, Charles (Laddie) Edward Rush and Timothy Allen Rush. Susan graduated from Zanesville High School in 1966. Following high school she attended the Ohio University- Zanesville in the nursing program. She was blessed with a gift for helping and caring for her patients. Among her many assignments, Susan offered her services as a nurse in the public schools, a volunteer nurse at church, local hospitals, home health and hospice and was always willing to offer medical guidance to family and friends. Even when she became sick she would give her advice and care about the needs of others. She served as an L.P.N and R.N. in the nursing field for over 50 years and was dedicated to her profession. Susan is a member of the church of God and attended the local congregation of the church of God in Zanesville, Ohio. She enjoyed the things of God, worshiping with the saints and spending time with the family of God in nursing home visitation, attending services and special meetings, revivals and laboring on work days at the church. She loved the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family and the local congregation of the Zanesville church of God. Susan is survived by her children Phillip Anthony (Sherene) Palmer of Malta,Ohio, Heidi (Jeff) Harris of Newark, Ohio, Brandy Palmer of Zanesville, Ohio, and Bradley Palmer of Zanesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Indie) Palmer, Mikisha Mayle, Amber Mayle; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lennox, Carter, Iris, Lyric and Edwin; sisters, Charmaine Green, and Belinda (Keith) Green; loving nieces and nephews, including special niece Lynna Gudino; special caregiver Rebecca Palmer; and a host of family and friends. Special thanks to Genesis Hospice Care-Morrison House for the care provided during Susan’s last weeks. You may call on the family Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., additional calling will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., all of which is to be held at at the Zanesville Church of God, 3064 Coopermill Rd. Sis.D.L.Green officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. |
