LAKE WYLIE, SC.: Thomas "Tom" R. Smith, age 82 of Lake Wylie, SC, formerly of Zanesville died 9:30 AM, September 5, 2015 at his home. He was born July 6, 1933 in Columbiana, AL, the son of William Thomas Smith and Ruby Elizabeth (Reinhardt) Smith. He married Shirley A. (Thomas) Smith on October 9, 1954. Tom was a graduate of Zanesville High School and received his Master's Degree in Sculpture from The Ohio State University and four of his designs are displayed in First Christian Church. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.Tom is survived by his wife: Shirley of the home; one daughter: Shannan Hearne of Clover, SC; three granddaughters: Haydan Smith, Hanna Hearne & Heidi Hearne all of Clover, SC; one sister: Peggy Russell of Sarasota, FL; one brother: Jeff Smith of New Concord and several nieces and nephews.Tom was preceded in death by his parents. Burial followed in Zanesville Memorial Park. |
