About NEWARK: A funeral service for Dr. Timothy Jay McNeish will be held at 10am, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, in Newark. Pastor Jeff Gill will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 5pm-8pm, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.Dr. McNeish, 58, of Newark, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was born June 6, 1957, in Zanesville, a son of John Charles McNeish, Sr. of Zanesville and the late Donna Bonita (Phillips) McNeish.Dr. McNeish was a 1975 graduate of Zanesville High School. He earned three degrees from The Ohio State University: a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1979; a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in 1981 and a Ph.D in Psychology in 1989. He was a member of the American Psychological Association and had been employed at Moundbuilders Guidance Center, Psychological Associates, Genesis Hospital and Licking Memorial Behavioral Health. Dr. McNeish was currently in private practice in Newark. Tim was an avid runner, completing several Boston and Chicago marathons. He had coached the Newark Middle School Cross Country team. He and his son, Connor, hiked Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. Tim was a loyal Buckeye fan and was a past member and deacon of Central Christian Church, in Newark. A loving and devoted father, he enjoyed attending and coaching school activities of his daughter and son.Surviving in addition to his father, are his children, Kaitlin Rae McNeish of Columbus and Connor Jay McNeish of Ithaca, New York, of whom he was so proud. Also surviving are the mother of his children, Judy McNeish of Pataskala; brother, John C. McNeish of South Zanesville; sister, Linda K. (George) Mitchell of Zanesville; three nephews, John C. McNeish III; Scott Mitchell, Mark (Pam) Mitchell and several great nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mathew and Andrew Akin Foundation, 38 Crown Manor Drive, Chesterfield, Missouri 63005.
