About | Violet M. (Vi) Hennessey, 93, of Zanesville, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her residence. She was born August 11, 1916 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Albert and Pansy Shrider George. Vi was a active member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the OES Chapter #485, a former volunteer Gray Lady at Bethesda Hospital where she supervised the Candy Strippers. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother. Surviving are two sons; Dan (Linda) Hennessey and Pat (Debbie) Hennessey, both of Zanesville; a sister Elberta Sarver of Beavercreek; four grandchildren; Julie (Todd) Sands, Ralph (Raven) Hennessey, Kristen (Jason) Hardcastle and Brian Hennessey, all of Zanesville; ten great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Mary Sands. Carter and Amanda Hennessey; step- great grandchildren, Carrie, Andrea, Dallas, Havannah and Carmella; a great- great Grandchild, Lauren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Hennessey who died January 20, 2005 and a step father Charles DeWitt. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
