About | ZANESVILLE -- Wilbert "Bill" Maxwell, 79, of Zanesville, died on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Zanesville on December 14, 1929 to the late Harley and Gertrude Maris Maxwell. He was a 1948 graduate of Lash High School and married June Bronkar Maxwell on October 1, 1949. Bill served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Navy; he worked for Meadow Gold Dairy, sold real estate, and retired from Mutual Federal Bank as a Loan Originator in 1994. Bill is survived by his loving wife, June, of Zanesville; a daughter, Linda Sue Powell of Zanesville; a grandson, Matt (Lisa) Powell of Morrow, Ohio; and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Julia Powell of Morrow, Ohio; three brothers, Roy (Glenna) Maxwell of Zanesville, Joe Maxwell of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Leo (Nancy) of Phoenix, Arizona. At Bill's request no calling hours or services will be observed. A caring cremation has taken place with The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio.
