| About | William C. “Bo” Bateson, 83 of Zanesville passed away Saturday September 29, 2012 at Cedar Hills Care Center. He was born March 26, 1929 in Zanesville a son of the late William and Edith Bateson. He had worked at ARMCO Steel, was a member of the VFW, American Legion and First Christian Church. Bo graduated from Lash High School in 1948 where he was a stand out on the basketball team. After graduation he went on to play basketball for the United States Air Force while serving his country and protecting our freedoms overseas. He is survived by his wife Shirley A. Maxwell Bateson; sons William (Laura) Bateson of Dresden and Thomas (Christy) Bateson of Utica, OH; daughters Beth Bateson-Adams and Sue King both of Zanesville; grandchildren Ryan and Kurt Allen, Clayton Bateson, Matthew Church, Courtney Bateson, Kyle King, Allison and Karlie Sears, Beau Bateson, Luke and Chase Bateson; great grandchildren Blake and Paige Allen. Close friends Pat James, Eddie Bowman, Dwight Stotts and Lefty Wagner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother David Bateson; sisters Marjorie, Margaret, Rachel and Hilah; and son-in-law Michael Adams. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. MILITARY RD. ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemtery. |
