ZANESVILLE: William H. "Bill" Turner, 82, of Zanesville, passed away at 10:20 PM Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly.He was born October 25, 1932 in San Diego, CA the son of the late Darius Mc Vay and Ruth Gordon Turner. A Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict Bill graduated from Zanesville High School in 1953. He retired as a truck driver for Mid Atlantic Canners, member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of Lafayette Lodge for over 50 years, Amrou Grotto, lifetime member of VFW, member of Teamsters Local 637 and enjoyed playing cards and golf.Bill is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sandra K. Barnes Turner; step-son, John W. (Michelle) Combs of Zanesville; step-grandchildren, Arielle, Alexandria and Jonothan; half-sister, Mary (Tom) Stevens of Paige TX; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn and Steve Carrel of Zanesville; and nieces, Lacey Ann Carrel and Abbey Nicole Carrel.Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Sharon Ramsey. Committal service will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. |
