About | William “Bill” H. Gilger, 81, of Zanesville, died peacefully 4:10 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 21, 1941, in Zanesville, the son of the late Lilyan Friel and William H. Gilger. After graduating from Zanesville High School, Bill went to study business at Bliss College. Bill had a love for golf, all things sports, and spent time traveling extensively with his wife throughout the United States and Europe. Bill retired from Brockway Glass, where he worked for 30 years. Within his lifetime, Bill was very active in several business ventures in the Zanesville, and surrounding areas. He along with his wife, Pamela and business partners, Harry and Diane Wilson owned and operated several businesses. Of these ventures, Bill was extremely proud of the Linden Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pamela Gilger, whom he married November 27, 1971; his children, Robert (Kendra) Gilger of Canal Winchester, William Troy Gilger and Lisa Gilger both of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Joshua & Alli Gilger; brothers-in-law, Don (Debbie) Mohler and Harry Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his son, Jason Gilger; one sister, Marlene Neve; sister-in-law, Diane Wilson and his loving dog, Zack. Friends may call 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Fr. Jan C.P. Sullivan officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park |
