About | William H. "Bill" Rose, age 58, of Wapakoneta, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in St. Mary's following an extended illness. He formerly served as a minister with various Church of Christ in Christian Union congregations and also worked as a factory worker until complications from a medical condition resulted in his blindness. He was a 1970 graduate of Zanesville High School, served a short term with the US Army during the Viet Nam War era, and attended the Circleville Bible College. Bill enjoyed sports and gardening and will be remembered for his generous heart. He was born March 28, 1951, in Zanesville to Edward A. and Opal Mae Estep Rose. He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Clifford Anderson; his daughter-in-law, Rose Sue Rose; a sister, Patricia Elizabeth Rose; a nephew, Travis Mock; and his father-in-law, Ben Eastman. Along with his mother of McConnellsville; survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn J. Eastman Rose, to whom he was married on August 7, 1971, at the West Mansfield Friends Church by the Rev. Ensminger; his daughter, Tina L. Rose Caballero, Lima; his son, William E. Rose, Ashland; six grandchildren; his siblings, Gerald Draper, Gulfport, MS; Archie (Deborah) Rose and Helen (Larry) Knight, each of Zanesville, Joe (Rena) Rose, Coshocton, Carol Rose, Malta, Marie (Brian) Hayes, Newark, and Trudy (Kevin) McCoy, North Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Marian Eastman, Kenton. Services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Mannasmith Funeral Home, 621 W. 5th St., Marysville. Reverend George Freer will officiate and burial will take place at Byhalia Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until the time of the service. |
