| About | William "Bill" Gibbons Sr., 75 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 27, 2024, at home. He was born on July 2, 1949, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late William Albert Gibbons and Sara Elizabeth (Munn) Gibbons. Bill was a graduate from the Muskingum Area Technical College, where he earned his associate degree. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the Army and a member of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ in Zanesville. Bill later worked at NCR for 21 years as an electronics technician and was one of the original first 60 hired at Kellog's, where he worked for 20 plus years before retiring. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed playing base guitar and weightlifting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and loved ones. Bill is survived by his 2 children: William "Bill" Johnathan (Melissa) Gibbons Jr., Crystal Lynn Gibbons; 6 grandchildren: Christelle (Brandon), Christian (Katee), Hannah, Joshua, Colby, Kaylee (Devon); 4 great-grandchildren: Noah, Nash, Nora, Nyah; special friend, Anita Z; mother of his children, Dianna Gibbons; cousins, Jeremy Eppley and Terry Munn; many other cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his special friend, Don Benjamin. Calling hours will be held on Thursday December 5, 2024, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held on Friday December 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Full military honors will be presented by The United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Burial will conclude services at Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville. |
