About | Dr. Wilson T. Axline, 91, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. Dr. Axline, known as "Ace" was born December 3, 1914 in Zanesville, to Dr. Theodore E. Axline and Golda Wilson Axline. He graduated from Lash High School and the Ohio State Universiity School of Dentistry, before becoming a dentist in Newark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, leaving the service with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After leaving the service, he returned to Zanesvile, where he practiced dentistry for more than 40 years. He is survived by his children, Robin Jane (Thomas )Scanlon of Kensington, Maryland; William Andrew Axline of Ottawa, Canada; Kristine Maria (Jonathon) Swedlund of Naperville, Illinois; and a step-son, John Mark Bonifield of Zanesville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen Maria Decker and his second wife, Virgina McFarland Bonifield Axline; and a sister, Virginia (Joseph) Schultz. No calling hours or services will be observed. A caring cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. |
