ZANESVILLE: Zetta Mae Murphy, 86, of Zanesville, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Genesis Hospital.She was born on March 29, 1929 in Zanesville a daughter of the late Perry and Irene Gilliland. She was an avid reader, quilter, and very family oriented. She was a member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and held various offices. She was a former member of the Newton Township Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, Growing Together CCL, and the Tuesday Card Club.She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Castor; three sons, Tim E.(Ann) Murphy, John (Diane) Murphy, and Andy (Trish) Murphy; grandchildren, Dawn (Tom) Bishard, Jammie Polen, Matthew (Ellen) Murphy, Aaron Murphy, Molly Murphy, Meghan Murphy, Seth (Lacie) Murphy, Jacob Murphy; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one brother, John (Dixie) Gilliland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime husband, Eugene Murphy; one sister, Joanna Tignor.Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5765 Gladstone Drive in White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015. Pastor Mark Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fair Oaks Memorial Fund. |
