About |
Alan was a member of the National Honor Society, played Trumpet in the CHHS Band from 1971 to 1975, was the Band President in his Senior year. He attended OU for 2 years where he also played in the Band. Alan worked at Tinker AFB for 10 years before deciding to go into business for himself, opening Oklahoma Scuba in Norman. As a certified Scuba instructor he held classes to certify others in his favorite sport. Alan was a devoted son, singlehandedly taking care of his father thru his 18 month recovery from ulcer surgery and a broken hip. In November of 2009 Alan was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer, inoperable, and stage 4. Alan passed away after a brief battle on 1 June, 2010. He was survived by his Wife, LeeAnn Hughes of Norman, his Father Bill Hughes of Midwest City, his Mother Jo Ann Hughes and his Brother Donald Hughes both of OKC. I didn't always show it, but I loved you Alan, you were a better man than I. |
