About | C.A. and I met outside in the parking lot and talked for a while after the '57 (45th) reunion. He wanted me to know how proud he was and thanked me for my military service. The featured guest during the dinner was Mr O'Dell, our Coach, who had presented me with nine military awards that had been sent to me over 30 years after my discharge. These medals could not have been presented while I was in treatment at a Navy Hospital and three of the foreign awards were not even made available until many years after we left the Republic of VietNam. There were tow others who thanked me for my service but C.A, seemed practically out of breath trying to catch me before I left the area. I remember him as a very friendly person and as a sincere man who was not a big man on campus probabably excelling in just being everyone's friend. May God rest his soul. |
