| About | Dorothy "Dot" Maitlen, a longtime Cushing resident, died December 28, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 73. Funeral services under direction of Palmer Funeral Home will be 2pm, Monday, December 31, 2007 in the First Christian Church of Cushing. Dr. Larry Haney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Euchee Vqlley Memorial Park. The daughter of the late Lee and Opal [Testerman] Griffeth. Dot was born April 25, 1934 in Monet Vista, Colorado. She graduated with the class of 1952 from Cushing High School. On August 24, 1952 in Cushing, Dot was united in marriage to John Maitlen. They had four daughters: Debbie, Beverly, Pamela and Edie. Dot was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Cushing. She served as a deacon and on numerous committies with the church. She had worked for Wal-Mart for several years before her retirement in 2000 and in her spare time she loved spending time with her family and cooking. Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Tuggle and her husband Jerry of Kellyville, Beverly Barnes and her husband Johnny of Tulsa, Pamela Lynch and her husband Tom of Stillwater and Edie Rogers and her husband Danny of Cushing; one sister, Betty Gordy and her husband Ray of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Shelley Potter, Andrea Morris, Jon Tuggle, Marc Tuggle and Jennifer Lynch; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dot's husband John preceded her in death. . |
