J. Quinn Brisben was an activist, teacher and poet. He grew up in Enid with his brother Joseph. He ran for president in 1992 with the Socialist Party, and was their vice presidential candidate 1976. He was a 1952 Enid High School graduate, and earned a bachelors from the University of Oklahoma in 1955 and a graduate degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also studied at Phillips University. He was the author of three poetry collections and a novel. He had two children with his wife Andrea. |
