About | A proud Chickasaw. He joined the National Guard in 1947 at 16 years of age, forging his mother's signature. His Division, the 45th, was activated to Korea and he served as Tank Commander in the 179th Tank Company from 1950-1953. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a football coach in Amarillo and Borger, Tex. and McLoud, Okla. where he led his teams to several district championships. In 1968, he was named Little All City's Football Coach of the Year. |
