Bonnie Denisoff Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1969
Date of Passing Oct 10, 2016
About Bonnie Ottosen passed from this life to her eternal home on October 9, 2016, surrounded by her family after a short, but courageous battle with lung cancer. Diagnosed only 4 months ago, she fought bravely through the radiation treatments, chemotherapy treatments and surgery only to succumb to the insidious ravages of lung cancer on her body even though her spirit wanted to continue the fight. Bonnie is the first of her 3 siblings to join their father, Alexander (Big Al) and mother, Virginia (Ginny) Denisoff in Heaven. She was born and raised in upstate New York. Her father, a WWII Army Veteran and later a Government Service Employee, was attached to Dyess AFB in New York when his unit and their families were relocated to Midwest City OK in 1963 to work at Tinker AFB. The family acclimated quickly, but brought much of New York with them. They followed the New York Giants and the New York Yankees, but became avid fans of the Oklahoma Sooners. Bonnie loved all sports. She competed in basketball in her youth and in tennis as a adult. She insisted a basketball goal be installed in every home we had. She hated any of her basketball shots that did not swoosh and made “YAH” a word for intensity in all she competed in. She was always the first one on the couch to watch a NY Giants, and OU Sooners or a Dallas Mavericks game. Because of her husband, a University of Texas fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan, three weekends of every fall football season for 30 years were a true house-divided event for the OU-Texas Red River Shoot Out (now the politically correct “Red River Rivalry”) and both Giants-Cowboys games. Having more than one TV in the house made those games bearable for the rest of the family. Bonnie was the consummate sales professional, from her early years with Easter Seals, medical equipment sales to her last 17 years in Real Estate sales. Bonnie represented Re/Max Town and Country in Allen for 11 years and Vivo Realty in Plano and Dallas the past 4 years. Bonnie touched the lives of so many people buying and selling their homes. She worked just as hard for a small sale as she did for a large sale and always treated each buyer and seller as the most important person she was working with. Almost every family she ever worked with is still on her Christmas card list. She will be sorely missed by her family, her business and real estate acquaintances, tennis friends and her endless list of best friends. Bonnie is survived by husband, Danny; daughter, Lyndsay and husband Bryan Bauman; brothers, Larry Denisoff, Kim Denisoff and wife, Karen; sister, Linda and husband, Randy Burruss; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rena Tarbet Cancer Center, in McKinney and especially Dr. Tobenna Nwizu. Also, thanks to the caring staff at HCA Medical Center of McKinney and The Belmont at Twin Creeks skilled nursing facility in Allen TX, where she spent most of her last three months. Also, Elysian Hospice for their outstanding final care. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen TX. Internment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening, October 12, 2016, from 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Too many obituaries say “in lieu of flowers..”, but Bonnie loved carnations.
