About | Ruth Camille Waller, 73, of Norman passed away Sunday January 10, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 9, 1942 in Tyler, TX to Lester and Ruth (Gragg) Roberts. On June 30, 1961 in Midwest City she married Mike Waller. Camille attended The University of Oklahoma. In 1976 she was awarded Who’s Who among Women in America. Camille was well known in the community as a gourmet cook and cooked for many charitable events. She and Mike started Waller Auto Service in 1977 which has grown into a successful family business. She was the founder and owner of The Cookie Castle in 1983 located at Stubbeman Village where she held a contract with the World Trade Center and Russell Stores. In 1987 she was the chairman of the Cleveland County American Cancer Society campagin. She owned and operated a Quiznos in Oklahoma City holding top notch rank with the health department. She was the chairman of the OU Arts, Arts, Arts Gala and member of the Opera Guild. She received the White Buffalo Mask Award from the University of Oklahoma School of Dance. She was the President of the Assistance League of Norman in 1994-1995. She traveled widely across the country as a committee member of the National Assistance League. She was the chairman of The A.L.N. Mayfair festival. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. P.E.O., Epsilon Sigma Alpha and longtime member of McFarlin United Methodist Church. While living in St. Louis she was a Blue Bird and Campfire Girl Troop Leader, she also was the editor of the Lafayette Area Newspaper and served as a Meals on Wheels Volunteer. She loved her time spent at her Lake home at Grand Lake but above all she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 54 years: Mike of Norman; children: Gina (Kenyon Hill) Waller-Hill of Norman, Holly ( Jack Robbins) Waller-Robbins of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Michael, Madeline, Matthew; brother: Leo “Skip” (Nora) Roberts of Owasso, OK, James K. Roberts of Guthrie; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Patricia McNeil. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday January 12, 2016 at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK 73071. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m.Wednesday January 13, 2016 at McFarlin United Methodist Church, 419 S. University, Norman, OK 73071. Burial will follow at Norman IOOF cemetery. |
