About | Carolyn Ann Tenney, Colorado Springs, went home to be with her Lord, Feb. 22, 2021 at 2:08 pm at the age of 71 at her home in Colorado Springs. Born August 5, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK Carolyn was the beloved wife of John Burdell Tenney for 48 years. She met her husband while he was in the Air Force and they attended First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Oklahoma. They were part of Mary’s group. They were married at First Southern on September 29, 1972. They lived in Del City, OK; California; Loveland, Colorado; lastly in Colorado Springs. Carolyn enjoyed crafts and made her brother a beautiful blanket with a perfect Thunder logo. All her life she made crafts to celebrate the seasons, like sock bunnies for her niece, Jenny and nephew, Jeff. Carolyn loved her family and spent many wonderful times and holidays together celebrating. In recent years, her favorite past times were going on short trips with John to celebrate important milestones and pampering her two beloved Siamese cats. Carolyn graduated from Midwest City High school in 1967, attended Central State College and went on to earn an AA Degree from Wagner Institute of Theology in 2012. She worked as a Pastoral Care Minister for 9 years. Carolyn spent over forty years ministering to people in Church services, Christian Conferences, Home Groups, and through her own ministry, Locks-N-Keys. She was an ordained minister helping people work through their difficult issues of life. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, John Tenney of 48 years. Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her brother, Herbert Schultz and wife, Kathy of Choctaw, OK; her niece, Jenny Davidson and family, John and Rachel of Wewoka, OK; her nephew Jeff Schultz and family, Henry and Heidi Schultz of OKC. She is lovingly remembered by Will Nichols and a host of friends and cousins. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents: Lydia Paulette and Herbert Green Schultz of Midwest City, OK; Uncle Henry Baker, aunts, Ruby Baker, Lennie Mae Schultz, Lyndall Tatum (Kalkbrenner), Francis Garoutte, and Uncle’s Ralph and George Steadman. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Schwartz Cemetery, SE 89th and Anderson Rd, OKC with Pastor Andy Finch officiating. Previously, visitation was held at Springs Funeral Home in Colorado Springs on Friday, Feb 26, 2021 from 10am to 12pm. Carolyn will be loved and missed by all. |
