Graduation Year Class of 1969
Date of Passing Aug 02, 2023
About Deborah Kay (Snell) Blackstock, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, and is now in the arms of her loving Lord and Savior.  Debbie was born on October 24, 1951 to Jack and Dorothy Snell in Oklahoma City. She graduated from Midwest City High School in 1969 and went on to attend additional business courses.  She worked for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, various legal firms and a long-standing career as an Office Administrator for the General Counsel's Office for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation before retiring.  Debbie and Mickey Lewis Blackstock were married June 19, 1974 and had two children: Jeremy Gene and Amy Dawn. Debbie was a wonderful soul and had a beautiful smile. She was friends with everyone soon after you met her and if you gave her a chance she would tell you about her love of Jesus. Her family and friends meant the world to her and her love for them was unmatched.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Midwest City and a member of the Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma and was at every event and concert she could make. Her love for singing for the Lord was determined.  Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mickey, her son Jeremy and her granddaughter Kora May Cherry. She is survived by her daughter Amy Cherry; grandchildren: Hunter (Kayla), Elijah, and Ethan (Madison) Blackstock, Kaylee Grace and Korbyn Lewis Cherry, and Hayley Hood; great-grandchildren: Grayson Carter, Carson Blaire and River Jace Blackstock; and two sisters Diane Robertson (Herbert) from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Peggy Mitchell (Jon), Midwest City. Debbie had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Services will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Midwest City.
