About | Fred Neal Martin, Jr was born May 9, 1929 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Fred Neal and Ruth Hall Martin. He passed from this life at the age of 83 early the morning of January 11, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. Fred graduated from Midwest City High School, Midwest City, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma University. He spent some 20 years in the oilfield, working 16 years for Noble Drilling Corp of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His second career was boat & motor mechanic with Ardmore Marine for 10 years, and then he opened and operated Marine Services of Lone Grove, Oklahoma unil 1998 when he retired due to health problems. He married Jeanette Jones January 12, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and lacked one day of celebrating their 63rd anniversary. Fred loved his wife, children and their families, and took great pride in their many accomplishments. His wife survives him, as well as four children: Johncy Martin and wife Sherry, Darci Brewer and husband C. W., Tracy Yarbrough and husband Gary, all of Ardmore, and Kelly Martin, Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren: Brad Martin, Mannsville, Amy Ponder, Ardmore. Lee Martin, Purdy, Michael Martin, Ardmore, Ryan Martin, Baltimore MD, Michelle Brewer, Tulsa, Travis Brewer, Broken Arrow, Eric Yarbrough, Ardmore, and Leah Yarbrough, Oklahoma City; eighteen great grandchildren and one great- great- grandson on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carden E "Tag" Martin and infant sister, Dorthy Sue.
