Kaufman, Joel Addison, Jr., 70, of Midwest City died at home on Monday, June 2nd surrounded by his family. Joel was born on July 27, 1943 at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joel A Kaufman, Sr. and Maxine Dowdy Kaufman. Joel graduated from Midwest City High School in 1961. He was an active member of St. Marks Lutheran Church as a Charter Member. He also attended Wickline Methodist Church in later years. Joel and Judy married in September of 1976 joining their two families into a family of six. Joel began his OG&E career in 1963 and continued to work for them for 41 years. Joel was a mentor to many young linemen at OG&E, he wanted nothing but the best for all especially "safety on the job." He could talk about Oklahoma Football, Thunder basketball, and politics, but when he started to talk about family, God and love, that"s when we lost track of time. Joel was preceded in death by both of his parents and most recently his sister Rochelle Lee Smith. Joel is survived by his wife Judy Kay, of the home, daughters Sarah Bacon and husband Brent, Jennifer Renfro and sons Allen Kaufman and Jeffery Mahoney and wife Leah. Joel was blessed with nine grandkids; Jace, Nik, Alex, Ann, Tanner, Addison, Jeffery Scott, Joshua and Joseph. He also has two great-granddaughters, Allie and Bella. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, June 6, 2014 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel. |
