John Paul Koch was born October 18th, 1951, in Clinton, Oklahoma. He grew up in Midwest City, and went to Midwest City High School and played baseball, football, and basketball. Upon graduation, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. John worked the majority of his career in Oklahoma based Oil and Gas companies and eventually retired from Express Personnel World Headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John passed away January 23rd, 2023, unexpectedly in the comfort of his own home. He was 71. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Darlene and Emmanuel "Cookie" Koch, and sister Jan Hill. John is survived by wife Barbara Koch of 32 years, daughter Jill Nelson and husband Josh Nelson, son Ryan Koch and wife Kacia Koch, grandchildren Brieona, Jersey and Lorelai, and several other family members and friends. John's childlike, jovial spirit and constant positivity drew others to him. His happiness and kindness were infectious, making it easy to love John as he was genuinely kind to all, and was such a great Godly example to all that knew him. He loved golf, football, Harley motorcycles, shooting at the gun range, and laughing at reruns of his favorite shows like Friends and Big Bang Theory. He loved to laugh, and make people laugh and was often known for being a big kid. Most importantly, he loved his family with all his heart. He was the epitome of a family man, and always demonstrated God's meek, kind, and loving spirit with all that he did. Per John's wishes, there will not be any services or visitation. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to give to Barb, please contact Ryan Koch, Jill Nelson or Kacia Koch via Facebook messenger and they will help make arrangements to do so. Thank you so much for all the love and support you have shown our family. Arrangements provided by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home in Moore, OK. |
