Kenneth Gene Holland passed from this life at home on November 29, 2023 with his wife by his side at the age of 72 years and 3 months. He was born August 29, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jean Seddon Holland and Harold Lee Holland. He graduated from Midwest City High School in 1969. On May 8, 2020 Ken married the love of his life, Dickie Holland. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Dickie Holland, sister Mary Punneo and husband Larry Punneo, 3 loving children, James Holland and wife Laura Holland, Chris Holland and wife Angela McClure Holland, Racheal Holland Archambo and husband Matt Archambo, and 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way. Family was what ultimately mattered most to Ken. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and absolutely treasured time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind countless dear friends. Ken spent the last years before retirement working in real estate, retiring with many awards for Top Producer from Keller Williams. His work ethic was unsurpassed no matter the endeavor. He wore many hats during his lifetime, from building cars to building homes, and anything in between. If it could be built or fixed, then Ken was the man you wanted for the job. He loved building things, and spent many hours in his garage and wood shop on his projects. Ken could often times be found tending to his yard and yardscapes of which he was very particular. Having a perfectly manicured yard was a given when Ken Holland owned the house. Ken never met a stranger, and if you were a stranger, it was only once. From there on you would always be a friend. Ken had 2 passions, other than family, pool and fishing. Ken built and operated the Night Gallery in Stella, Oklahoma, intended as a pool hall for the youth to have somewhere safe to hang out, be warm, get a hot meal and "not be out getting in trouble' according to Ken. He taught many young boys and girls to play pool and also taught many of life's lessons there as well. Ken's door was always open to anyone. He was more than willing to help no matter the circumstances. If Ken was not at a pool hall, then he was at the lake fishing. His last project, which he worked on every day he was able, was building a house boat, which sits in the back yard today. He lived his 72 years to the fullest savoring every moment of his time on earth. He possessed a large sense of humor and quick wit, of which everyone was subject of a least once. He relished the pool leagues and so loved visiting with everyone and competing. He won his last ever 8 ball match at pool league on Tuesday, 11/28/23, and was a very happy camper. Never a dull time was had when Ken Holland was in the room. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers, Wayne Holland and Roy Holland and his best friend, his beloved Shepherd Meka. Ken was a perfect example of how to fully embrace life and love. His wisdom, his laugh, his support and his love will be sorely missed. Being someone's first love is special, but being someone's last love is truly remarkable and honestly takes your breath away when they leave this earth. |
