Pam J. Story Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1967
Date of Passing Jul 27, 2022
About Pam Craig, 73, of Edmond, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2022. She was born on March 28, 1949, in Oklahoma City to Chester and Marie Story. Pam was the middle child of six Story kids and graduated a Bomber from Midwest City High School in 1967. She attended Oklahoma State University and acquired a teaching degree. While there she met the love of her life for over 50 years, Larry Craig, and they married right after college in 1971. She also received a Master of Education from University of Central Oklahoma all while teaching and raising her two daughters. She had a 43-year career of teaching and library science in Oklahoma City, Edmond, Deer Creek, Christ the King, and Piedmont.

Pam was a woman that believed in being in service to others, her faith, her community, and her family. She was the kind of teacher that always purchased extra school supplies for those students that couldn’t afford them. She shared her adventurous spirit, with her daughters and four granddaughters, which often took them on regular family vacations. While home she enjoyed gardening, swimming, cooking, an ice cold Coke, and scrapbooking about her many adventures with friends and family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Marie and her siblings Reta Saunders, Bob Story, and Gary Story. She is survived by her husband Larry and two daughters Jennifer and husband Troy Hensiek of Montana and Julie and husband Matt Angala of Washington and her younger siblings Tom Story and Kathy Mortenson. She also has four beautiful granddaughters, Emily Hensiek, and three Angala girls Molly, Annie and Maggie who will continue her legacy of service and love of delicious homemade desserts. She will be immensely missed and will forever be in our hearts.

In lieu of the flowers, donations can be made to Oklahoma State University Botanical Gardens and Oklahoma State University Pet Therapy Program Fund.

Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Monday, August 1st at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, August 5th at First United Methodist Church Edmond, OK at 10:00 am.
