Pamela Sue Leenhouts, 50, passed away suddenly in her home in Orange Park FL on Monday, August 13, 2001. Pamela was a resident of Orange Park since 1975, having graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1973 with a degree in Education and Spanish, and later received her Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Florida in 1990. She began her teaching career in Clay County in 1976 and taught at Orange Park Middle School, Ridgeview Jr. High, Middleburg High, W.E. Cherry Elementary and Orange Park High. She was currently employed as a teacher at Individualized Educational Services in Orange Park. Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Captain John Leenhouts, USN, Ret.; daughter, Stephanie Ryan Leenhouts; mother, Faye Ulsh of San Antonio TX, sister, Cheri and her husband Gary Limon of Little Rock AR. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 17, 2001, 1:00 PM in the base Protestant chapel at NAS Jacksonville with Chaplain Minnis officiating. The family invites friends to visit at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park FL on Thursday, August 16, 2001 from 6 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Pamela's memory to the Leenhouts Scholarship Fund-Albert Center for Learning c/o Suntrust Bank, 296 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park FL 32073. Pamela was a lover of classical music, great novels, old movies and her many students.
