Ragon R. Moore, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life into the arms of his Savior, Sunday, March, 11, 2018 at the age of 67 years. The son of the late Heartsill Moore and Leona Foresman Moore, Ragon was born on February 14, 1951 in McAlester OK and received his education in Gate OK, graduating from high school in Midwest City. He was united in marriage to the girl of his dreams, Jackie Shelton on August 23, 1986 in Cushing and to this union they had two children, Ryan and Amanda. Following high school, Ragon attended and graduated from Central State University, receiving his degree and certificate in teaching allowing him to teach and coach. He was involved with teaching and coaching for 5 years before he opened and operated his own business for 40 years, retiring for health reasons. Ragon was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Cushing; he enjoyed fishing, and the activity that brought him the most smiles was watching Ryan coach, and following Amanda’s fashion career. The pride and joy of his life was his grand-daughter Hazel Mae Moore. Ragon is survived by his wife of over 31 years, Jackie Moore of the home; his children Ryan Moore and his wife Naomi of Gracemont OK and Amanda Moore of Fort Worth TX; his siblings, Gary Moore and his wife Dianne of El Reno OK; Barry Moore and his wife Cindy of Edmond OK; Cathy Patton of Yukon OK; Louise Fox of Broomfield CO; Cecelia Tuttle and her husband Tom of Yukon OK and Sandra Boles and her husband John of Sherwood AR; one grand-daughter Hazel Mae Moore; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cushing First Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Martin, and Brother Josh Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery of Yale. Ragon will lie in state at the Davis Funeral Home for viewing. Viewing will not be available at the church on the day of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund in memory of Ragon. |
