About Susan Jane (Baker) Wehrenberg was born on October 28, 1950 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Rev H. Ray Baker and Ernestine Baker. The third of their four children. She passed away on May 20, 2021 in Greeley CO. Being the daughter of a Methodist minister, Susan lived in the communities where her father pastored during her early years. Beginning at Pawnee, then moving to Sand Springs, OK and on to Las Vegas, NM, Monahans, TX, Putnam City, OK and Midwest City OK. She graduated high school from Midwest City and attended one year of college at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia AR. She then moved back to continue her college at Central State University in Edmond OK. She completed an Associates of Business while at Central State University. Also, at Central State, at the Wesley Foundation, she met Edward Wehrenberg (Ed) and after almost 2 years of courtship they were married on August 13, 1972 at Wickline UMC in Midwest City by her father, H.R. Baker and assisted by her Grandfather (also a Methodist minister) Rev. Oscar Evanson. She began work for the Oklahoma Department of Correction-release center while Ed completed his degree and they moved to Loyal OK to begin dairy and farming operations in January of 1974 until 1987. During those years, she gave birth to two boys, Martin and Michael. Then, the family moved to Marshfield MO and the sons completed high school there during those seven years. Ed was offered a promotion from the insurance company he was with which came with a move to Colorado and Ed and Susie moved to Greeley CO in October of 1995. She once again went to college and earned an Associates of Accounting Degree in Greeley and began working as an accountant. She completed 15 years of work at the University of Northern Colorado and retired as the Head Cashier in June of 2020. She is predeceased by her parents, Rev. H. Ray and Ernestine Baker and sister Theresa Greear and uncle Wendell (Wendy) Evanson. She is survived by her husband, Ed Wehrenberg, who remains in Greeley CO; son Martin and spouse Melinda from Westwood KS; son Michael and spouse Valerie along with their twin children, Taylor and Zachary from Springfield MO. Family remaining are brother, Ron Baker and wife Beverly Baker; sister, Mary Moon and husband John Moon. Nephews include Jack Moon, Dale Glazier, Stacy Glazier, Kyle Glazier, Kevin Littlefield, Brian Littlefield and Erich Wehrenberg. Nieces include Lara Greear, Cindy Greear, Meredith Moon and Amy Baker. Also, remaining is one aunt, Lydia Evanson of Arkadelphia AR and her children Lori and Kirk and their families. Many other family members, friends, and co-workers from all the places she lived her life and worked through the years. She requested no funeral services and she has always thought of wanting people to remember her as she lived and was active in life! Her remains will be cremated and ashes spread on a mountain top near Red River NM where she loved vacationing with her family in younger years. Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, that everyone make a gift to your local hospice. Hospice has been an invaluable asset in this family's time and needs all the financial support people can give when they can.
