About | Corvallis Gazette Times Tuesday, March 17, 1987 John Milton Burkhart, a former Corvallis resident, died in a Portland hospital Friday after a long illness stemming from a heart condition. He was 43. Mr. Burkhart was born February 19, 1944, in Portland to Wallace and Marcella Burkhart, descendants of an Albany pioneer family. He was raised in Corvallis, where he graduated from Corvallis High School in 1962. He studied electrical engineering at Oregon State University, graduating in 1968. On July 1, 1972, he married Marilynn Druba in Independence. The couple then moved to Salem, where Mr. Burkhart worked at the Salem Iron Works until 1980, when they settled in Tualatin. Until recently, Mr. Burkhart worked as production supervisor for Esco Corp in Portland. He was a member of the Living Savior Lutheran Church in Tualitin. He is survived by his family in Tualatin: his wife, Marilynn; a son, William M. Burkhart; and a daughter, Jessica Jane Burkhart; and his mother, Marcella Burkhart of Corvallis. Memorial services will be at 2pm, March 17 at Living Savior Lutheran Church, Tualatin. Private interment will be in the Burkhart family plot in Riverside Cemetery, Albany.
