| About | Michael Gene Cleveland, age 34 of La Grande, died, Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Grande Ronde Hospital of natural causes. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Valley. Michael Gene Cleveland was born on July 25, 1972, the son of Robert and Deborah (Beickel) Cleveland in Medford, Oregon. The family moved to Pendleton and then settled in La Grande in 1973. Michael attended school in La Grande and graduated with the high school class of 1990 before attending Eastern Oregon University where he graduated in 1995. On August, 30, 2003 he married Elizabeth Canfield in La Grande. He worked for Boise Cascade as a stacker operator and was the current President of the local union. Michael enjoyed sports and played baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all loved spending time with his children and family. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Cleveland of La Grande; children, Zoe and Gillian Cleveland of La Grande; parents, Robert and Deborah Cleveland of La Grande; cousins, Scott Allen and Brad Allen of La Grande and Adria David of Kuna, Idaho and other relatives and friends.
