Christopher P. Goldspink Obituary (1967 - 2023)

Graduation Year Class of 1985
Date of Birth Oct 23, 1967
Date of Passing Aug 05, 2023
About Chris Goldspink, 55, of Milwaukie, Oregon was born on October 23, 1967, to Bill Goldspink and Kathy Borem in Portland, Oregon. He and his wife, Wanda Goldspink, passed away on August 5, 2023.

Chris and Wanda attended Rex Putnam High School together. They met during their sophomore and junior years, remaining together, and engaged for many years while raising a family, until finally marrying on October 5, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada with their son, Will, and Daughter-in-law, Emily, present. They had been together for nearly 40 years at the time of their passing.

Chris often participated in dirt bike races, bringing along Wanda and their children to many events. He enjoyed riding and placed in the top three on more than one occasion. He had a successful career as a machinist for the last 25 years, first working as a manual CNC operator at B&B Machine alongside his brother, Ben, and father, Bill. For the last 18 years, he worked as a CNC machinist at American Machine and Gear, where in May of 2023, he accepted a promotion as a shop superintendent.

They both enjoyed various hobbies to fill their time; Chris loved riding dirt bikes with friends and family, in more recent years he could be found riding with his son, Will alongside Will’s close friends, and his brother, Ben. Chris also enjoyed archery and rifle hunting and instructed his children everything he knew about the sport. Recently, Chris dabbled in 3-D printing, making various characters for game nights with his son. Until 2008, Chris was an avid RC car and airplane enthusiast.

Chris and Wanda were a fun and loving couple. He was very sarcastic with a dry sense of humor, but ultimately, he was a giant teddy bear, instilling compassion, and responsibility in his children, and was caring and generous to those close to him. Wanda was considered a cool, fun mom by her children and their friends.

Chris will forever be remembered as a devoted father, as well as a mentor and father figure to many of his children’s closest friends. He was the one everyone called for help or advice. He was a loving grandfather (affectionately named Grampa Guppy, much to his exasperation). He will always be remembered with much joy by his loving mother, Kathy, whom he loved very much. Most importantly, Chris would want us to remember his selflessness and humor, always having a “dad joke” ready.

“What did the ocean say to the beach? Nothing it just waved.”

Chris and Wanda are survived by their daughter, Nicole Larkins, and son-in-law Mason; their son, William Goldspink, and daughter-in-law Emily; granddaughters, Makenzie and Molly; Chris’s mother, Kathy Borem and stepfather Lyle Borem, and his siblings: Ben Goldspink and wife Marsha Goldspink; Tiffany McCrum and partner Dion; and Geoff Goldspink; Wanda’s siblings: Bob Allworth and wife Kathy Allworth; Terrilynn Allworth-Roshay and husband Michael Roshay; Jeff Allworth and wife Sheila Thomas; as well as numerous extended family.

We can all find solace in knowing that they have been reunited with the family that predeceased them: Chris’s grandparents Pearl and Ralph Speece, and his father Bill; Wanda’s parents Rob and Carol Allworth; and their first granddaughter Makayla. What a joyous reunion it must have been for them all.

Close friends and family will gather at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home, for a private service in honor of Chris and Wanda.
