About | Obituaries Gilbert L Shisler (August 23, 1947 - July 9, 2013) Gilbert Lee Shisler, 65, of Lewes, Delaware; formerly of Abington, PA died on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late H. LeRoy and Dorothy (Korell) Shisler. Gil graduated from Abington High School, class of 1965. He studied architecture at Penn State University in State College for five years. Gil was employed in the Art Department as a Graphics Designer for American Olean Tile Company, Lansdale, Pa. He moved to Lewes, Delaware in the mid seventies and opened an antique shop on Main Street. Gil was an avid skier, traveling often to Denver, CO. He collected antiques and enjoyed performing in local musical theaters. Gil purchased an original school house in Ship Carpenters Square, where he transformed a one room school house into a beautiful three story home. He is survived by a brother, Jeffrey Shisler and wife Marilyn of Harleysville, PA; two nieces, Pamela Benedict & husband, Pastor Steven of Manassas, VA and Robin Greiner & husband, Gene of Perkasie, PA. Memorial services will be held in Lewes, Delaware at a later date. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.
