| About | Obituary For Kenneth R. Bauer Age 79, peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 of Charlotte, N.C. formerly of Brentwood. Beloved husband of Margaret Clifford (Woodward); former spouse of Connie Grundmeyer; loving dad of Michael (Liz) Bauer; proud grandpa of Wesley, Gabriela, Nathan and Louis; brother of Barbara (the late Robert) George and the late Jeannie (Kenneth) Boyd. Also will be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and his North Carolina family and friends. An avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports, Ken also followed his alma maters Youngstown State and Pitt religiously. If you knew Ken, you knew his favorite athletes were Maz and Clemente. Following in his father's footsteps, he took over as owner of F.J. Bauer Jewelry company that resided in the Clark building in downtown Pittsburgh. Later in life he rekindled his original passion and went back to teaching. He taught elementary school in Hickory and Charlotte, North Carolina for over 20 years, earning several teaching awards. Kenny valued and took pride in having the best friends from Brentwood, Youngstown, and Hickory. Many friendships lasted over 70 years. His retelling of Pirates baseball and YSU frat parties will surely be missed. As per Ken's wishes, visitation and services will be held privately.
