About | Chris Bumbaugh Fayetteville It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend Chris Michael Bumbaugh, 57. Chris, son of James and Colleen Bumbaugh is survived by wife of 34 years, Patti Kimple Bumbaugh; daughters, Lauren and Kayla (both residing in Philadelphia); and his favorite four-legged friends, Rolls, Royce and Cali. Chris's brothers and sisters (and their spouses) include Cheryl Martin, Carin (Dave) Walter, Carole (James) Yapuncich, Craig (Deb) Bumbaugh, Claire Johnson, Darryl (Lisa) Bumbaugh; and many nieces and nephews. Chris is predeceased by his brother, Eric Bumbaugh. Chris retired April 1, 2014 after 37 years of federal service with Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD). Chris was not only a hard worker at his place of employment but also at home. He dedicated his free time to household projects, his passion for reassembling cars (always European engineering) and his love of the outdoors. In his younger years, he enjoyed going full throttle on or off the track on his dirt bikes. Chris had a passion for adventure yet a peace of mind in the mountains. Whether he was indulging in scuba diving in the Caribbean, hiking in Caledonia, kayaking the 'Jig', hunting in Wyoming, snow skiing local black diamonds, or jet skiing on the Potomac, he loved his closest friends and family sharing in these experiences. Chris's greatest love was his life partner and wife, Patti. Chris truly embraced the beauty of Montana and the carefree culture of the islands. In lieu of a viewing and funeral, there will be a mass held in Chris's honor at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, on Friday, July 8 at 3 p.m. Father Dominic DiBiccaro will be presiding. At 5 p.m., the family will be hosting a celebration of Chris's life at Liberty Mountain Resort's Alpine Lodge, 78 Country Club Trail, Fairfield. Hors d'oeuvres will be served, and friends and family are welcome to celebrate the wonderful memories shared with Chris and his loved ones. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice at 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202. |
