| About | Cathie A. Sommers, 63, of Effort, passed away on September 24, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of Paul N. Sommers with whom she would have celebrated 11 years of beautiful marriage this October the 23rd. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marion (Peters) Hegedus. Cathie was a 1976 graduate of Freedom High School in Bethlehem and later worked as a regional supervisor for Hudson News for many years. Cathie had a creative heart and enjoyed spending time doing arts & crafts. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her four-legged children, Mindy, Max, Dakota, and Bear. In addition to her loving husband, Paul, she is survived by children, David Sommers and wife, Jennifer of Chapman; and Tiffany Barbara and husband, Roy of FL; brother, Keith Hegedus and wife, Carol of North Carolina; grandchildren, Lindsey, Riley, Emily, R.J., and Violet; and two nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved St. Bernard, Daisy. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA 18037. A viewing will be held from 9:30-11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.
