| About | Vanessa Lorna Sloane, daughter of the late Dabner Sloane and Dorothy W. (Mays) Sloane, was born Wednesday, December 14, 1955, in Harrisburg, PA. Vanessa retired from the PA Department of Labor and Industry and was a dedicated, longtime member of Turner Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Steelton, PA. Vanessa diligently handled the finances of the church as Head Trustee and also served with the Usher and Kitchen Ministries as well as the Building Committee. She was a faithful servant of the Lord for over fifty years. Shopping, cooking Sunday dinners and spending time with her grandchildren were among Vanessa’s most loving and enjoyable times. While at Carolyn’s Hospice House, Harrisburg, PA, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 8:24 p.m., Vanessa transitioned from time to eternity at sixty-six years of age. Vanessa leaves irreplaceable memories and her love to two daughters, Khia Kenney (Don) and Jaleesa Burden; three sisters, Brennan Mills, Janese Dunbar and Tina Tucker (Larondo); her grandchildren, Autum Sloane, Jahlya Landon, Keyon Kenney, Jye Selvey; her great-grandchildren, Journey Johnson, Jordynne Johnson, Skylar Anderson; other family members and friends. |
