Carol Jean Yankura Rohulich Obituary

Graduation Year Class of 1971
Date of Passing Feb 01, 2019
About On Friday, February 1, 2019, hearts were shattered in Waynesburg as Carol Jean Yankura, 68, originally of Rices Landing, left her earthly duties.
She was born August 20, 1950, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Sullivan Rohulich.
Carol was a 1968 graduate of Mapletown High School and was also a graduate West Virginia University Career College.
She previously worked for District Magistrate Rapchak in Carmichaels, the Jefferson-Morgan High School cafeteria and Giant Eagle deli in Dry Tavern.
On September 8, 1973, she married John K. Yankura, who survives. They celebrated over 45 years of marriage.
She was the beloved mother to a daughter and son-in-law, Carol (Robbie) Howard of Waynesburg. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Chase Robert Howard, Niko Rian Howard and Mia Alizibeth Howard; three brothers, John Rohulich of Cambridge, Ohio, Charles Rohulich Jr. of Bobtown and George Rohulich of Bobtown; and several nieces and a nephew.
Carol truly loved being around people, her family and especially her grandchildren. Her warm smile could light up the room. Carol had a love for all animals, and the neighborhood cats communicated this well with one another. She believed in "no cat left behind." Before succumbing to the terrible disease of dementia, Carol also enjoyed smoking and did very well trying to hide her "cancer sticks" from her daughter and grandchildren. Carol also can be noted as the grandmother that truly got ran over by a deer - although not a reindeer, it is still notable. Carol spent many years at Yogi Bear campground with her husband, mother and family. The memories that were created at Yogi will forever be imprinted on her grandchildren's heart.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Leann Leonard, the loving Rolling Meadows staff, Traci Roberts, Stacy Green-Cox and the Via-Quest team.
Carol will be so deeply missed by her husband, daughter and grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 7. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Greene County Humane Society, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370, in honor of all the neighborhood cats Carol has taken care
