About | On February 12, 2018, TSgt(retired) Lester Robert Wolthers Sr. passed away and has transcended to the great bowling alley in the heavens. Lester was born on September 27, 1935 in Union Township, New Castle, Pennsylvania to Albert Jacob and Pauline Amelia Wolthers(Lowery). Lester graduated from New Castle High School in 1953 where he studied in a machining program. Lester entered the United States Air Force in 1955 where he retired after 23 years as a machinist. During his military service in 1966-67 he was deployed to combat communism in the country of South Vietnam. Lester followed his honorable military services by continuing to serve the United States for 12 Years as a civil servant for the United States Navy where he retired in 1993. TSgt Wolthers passion was bowling and achieved a perfect 300 game in 1972 in Homestead, Florida. Lester was also a life time member of the VFW. TSgt Lester R. Wolthers Sr. is survived by his wife Annie D. Wolthers(Petrich), daughter Debra A. Wolthers-Corvo and her husband Chuck ,son Lester R. Wolthers Jr. and his wife Margaret, daughter Amelia D. Wolthers, his twin brother Chester H. Wolthers of New Castle,PA , four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren . In lieu if flowers, the family has requested donations to The Choctawhatchee High School Stylemarchers Band Program, White Sands Bowling Center Youth League, the Boy Scouts and The Fort Walton Beach Boys and Girls Club. The services will be held at Davis-Watkins on Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach,FL on February 20th, 2018 at 10am.Burial will follow the services at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. |
