Butch was well-liked in school. He always had a smile! He died in Alexandria, PA and was survived by a son, two stepsons and his wife. His sister, Judy, also an O-E graduate, lives in Indianapolis, IN. Butch served in the U.S. Army from 9/23/1963 to 6/26/1967. He was in VietNam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Combat Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Citation and the General Combat Medal. He was a graduate of Penn State University where he earned a B.S. with distinction in Forestry Management. At the time of his retirement he held the position of Regional Forester for the South Central PA Region of the commission. He loved to hunt and was an avid collector and restorer of MG autos. He also enjoyed collecting antiques and native American lore. |
