About | Obituary published in the St. Augustine Record on 12/15/2009 Cleatis W. Yarger passed away at Bayview Nursing Home on Dec. 13, 2009, after a lengthy and brave battle against cancer. He was 73 years old. He was born in Pennsylvania. After moving to New Jersey he became a tool and die maker, later a designer, and eventually a tool production engineer for General Motors in Michigan. He was a faithful and loving husband, married to his beloved wife, Sandra, for 50 years. He was also a devoted father to his son, David; grandfather to his granddaughter, Niki; and uncle to his many special nieces and nephews. He also leaves his brother, Glenn, of St. Augustine; and sisters, Doris (Francis) Cook of Willingboro, N.J., and Phyllis (Richard) Wagner of New Bloomfield, Pa. He will be fondly remembered and missed by family and many supportive friends. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Bayview for their excellent care. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Caring Hands-Caring Community, 161-B Marine St., St. Augustine, FL 32084 in Mr. Yarger"s name would be appreciated. Celebrations of his life will also be held in Pennsylvania and Michigan at later dates. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
