Died in an airplane crash? From EB. I was aware of John's tragic death. At the time, we actually live close to where he died. That was when we were stationed at Windsor Lockes, CT. He was working with helicopters and new designs. Died on a test flight. I regarded it as tragic then and tragic now--such a brilliant mind and kind gentleman died so early in life. I thought always that his death is a loss to the entire scientific and technological community, not simply to the class. He would have gone far and created many brilliant innovations. |
