Judith A. Murtha "Judy" Ferron Obituary | Condolences Judith 'Judy' A. Murtha Ferron of West Chester , 72 of West Chester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles T. Ferron who died in 2010 and with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Judith was born in West Chester, the daughter of the late Jack Murtha and the late Mary Sudzinna Murtha. Judy attended Saint Patrick's Elementary School in Kennett Square and Saint Agnes High School in West Chester. In her early years she was a secretary for Unionville School District. Judy was also the executive secretary for Tri M Corporation for over 24 years, retiring in 2005. After the passing of her husband she resided at Brandywine Hall in West Chester. There she was extremely active in a variety of organizations within the nursing home. Judy was the president of the residents association, leader of the PEER (Pennsylvania Empowered Expert Residents) group, where she counseled her neighbors. Judy was also a grandmother figure and sounding board for many young people who worked at Brandywine. She gave sound advice and love to those who came to share their stories. The Ferron family thanks the staff at Brandywine for becoming Mom's second family, and making her last years productive and rewarding. Mom was a wonderful cook. Nothing made Judy happier then gathering her family together and cooking for days preparing the Thanksgiving feast. Her true love was her family, who she devoted her life to from a very early age.
