About | Chester Sebastianelli 93, of Archbald, formerly of Jessup, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife Annabelle Geroulo and his second wife, Margaret McAndrew Zerechak. Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late Mariano and Mary Palmieri Sebastianelli. He was a graduate of Jessup High school and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Scranton, and also a Master's degree in Education from Marywood University. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was employed as a teacher at Wallenpaupack Schools for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas church, in Archbald, where he was a lector and a Eucharistic minister... He resided in Archbald the last 43 years after moving from Jessup. He was a member of the Jessup American Legion, Post 411 and the Jessup Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5544. and retired army veterans association. He was with Pattons Third Army. His Regiment was the first Allied force to liberate a Concentration Camp in Germany. He was known in the Jewish Community for his many lectures about his experience liberating a concentration camp in WWII. He always said his only headache was during the Battle of the Bulge. He could always be seen with his grandson Christyan by his side in his truck. Anyone in need he was there. A special thank you to his family at Elmcroft who made him so content his final years. He was a gentleman to his fingertips. Always with a smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by a daughter, Pat Telech and husband Walter, Archbald, a stepson, Michael Zerechak, also Archbald, grandchildren, Christyan and AlexandraTelech, Jeffrey and Jeremy Zerechak, great grandchildren, Ryan and Abigal, brothers, Robert Sebastianelli and wife Linda,Binghamton, NY and Joseph Sebastianelli and wife Leanne,New Jersey, nieces and nephews, Mary Kay Peregrim, Joyce Shively, Kristen Green and David Sebastianelli, Joseph, Justin, John and Julia Sebastianelli. He was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Sebastianelli, and and infant Gerald and sisters, Antoinette and Helen Sebastianelli and Clare Andrejko. The funeral will be Thursday with mass at 9:30 at St. Thomas Church, Archbald. . Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Margotta Funeral Homes. Anyone attending the funeral is asked to go directly to church.
