Events | Obituary On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, George E. Tag, 76, of York, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the devoted husband to Deann E. (Lipsitz) Tag for what would have been 40 years in December. George was adopted at 3 days old by the late Arthur P. and Gertrude (Wisler) Tag. He was born on January 25, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. George worked in the grocery business since he was 17 years old. He worked for Turkey Hill in various roles for 20 years before retiring. He was a member of the West York VFW; and enjoyed working on his flower beds, watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies; and traveling on Disney Cruises and to Disney World. He was a proud supporter of Snow White's Grumpy Dwarf. George always had cats, and named one of them Mickey Mouse. He is survived by his wife, Deann; one Sister-In-Law, Lynn Rohrbaugh and husband Brian; and two Brother-In-Laws, Edwin Lipsitz and wife Kay, and Mark Lipsitz and wife Liz; four nieces, Heidi Stockman and husband Dillon, Sara Kain and husband Dustin, Christiana Lipsitz and Emily Lipsitz; and 8 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, who were also adopted, Ronald Tag and Shirley Darr; and two nephews, David and Samuel Lipsitz. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 12:00PM at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Inurnment will follow in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery in York.
