About | Kathy S. Wyland, 60, of State College, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at her residence. She was born on November 14, 1947 in Windber to Nancy Alice Livingston Holsopple who survives in Windber and the late Noah James Holsopple. She graduated from Windber High School in 1965 and received a certificate of education from South Hills Business School in 1988. She worked as a staff assistant for the Mathematics Department at Penn State University, retiring in May of 2005. She was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #245 in State College. She served as President of the Auxiliary from 1995 to 2003. Earlier in life she was married to Robert E. Wyland. In addition to her mother she is survived by two daughters, Robin E. Criswell and her husband Rob of New Castle, and Kimberly S. Hodges and her husband Jayson of State College; two sons, James T. Wyland and his partner David Haines of Henderson, NV and Tony K. and his wife of Downingtown; a stepdaughter, Hazel Masden and her husband Jeff of Montoursville; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Harvey Holsopple and Edgar Holsopple both of Johnstown; and two sisters, Louise Shaffer of Waldorf, MD and Sharon Wastowicz of Centreville, VA. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Russell Sauerwein officiating. Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
